Liam J. Edwards Shares Self-Empowering Pop Gem ‘Better Off’

When approaching Liam J. Edwards, one has to deal with his unique artistic outlook. Perhaps it’s because of his majestic vocals, so charming, deep-sounding and filled with gravitas – but there’s something inherently authentic in the project’s music. Take for instance ‘Better Off’, Edwards’ latest effort. In it, the listener will be greeted by an elegant, pompous and rich sonic universe, a slice of bright pop goodness perfectly fitting Liam’s aesthetic.

The track provides the perfect framework for the Welsh talent’s evocative and poignant vocal tone, highly theatrical, and almost dramatic: once we learn he’s classically trained, it all makes sense. Generally speaking, we are in electronic pop territories, although the lyrical and songwriting references delve into more conventional and classic stylings, effectively blending the new with the old. Emerging from Cardiff, Liam J. Edwards seems set on a bright career, and we are confident he’ll reach tremendous heights pretty soon – ‘Better Off’ speak for itself.

Produced by Tim Hamill at Sonic One Studios, the record explores the aftermath of a painful heartbreak, which then sparks a strong self-empowering journey. As Edwards explains: “Better off is the track that began my journey of self-love, following a short-lived relationship where I was really taken advantage of. At first, I was incredibly broken-hearted as I had believed they would be in my life forever but through writing the track I went on a journey! The healing power of music and songwriting allowed me to explore all the negative feelings, flip them upside down and change the narrative.”
