Lewca Announces New Album and New Creative Era with ‘Like Liam Gallagher’

‘Like Liam Gallagher’ marks the triumphant and eclectic return of French creative Lewca, as he gears up for a brand new album.

Closing a three-year hiatus, French sonic alchemist Lewca has recently returned with a brand new offering, ‘Like Liam Gallagher’, a piece that picks up exactly where the project had left off back in 2023. At the time, Lewca published ‘Boombap for Boomers’, an album that teaches us a lot about what we can expect from the gifted musician going forward. Featuring S.O.A.P. a.k.a DJ Sonofapitch on production duties, the new single marks the beginning of a new creative chapter, one that will eventually result in a forthcoming album.

Sharing the same attitude as a drunk Liam Gallagher, the eponymous single embraces a playful, gritty and rebellious character, capturing all the sleaze of 90s Britpop into a laidback alt-pop anthem, a piece that feels quite unconventional at times, yet that’s bound to conquer any keen listener out there. It’s certainly a deeply eclectic track, one that draws from a variety of influences and cultural references.

In fact, we are told that Lewca’s upcoming album features “12 tracks of reggae-infused alternative punk rap pop”, a description that’s hard to visualise, but that makes perfect sense at the same time. Delving deeper into the project’s creative ethos, the Paris-based creative explains: “All my albums are about time passing, I guess, personal doubts and demons, abuse, and dreams that will never come true. It’s mixed into 80’s-90’s sonic references that influenced Me & S.O.A.P growing up… Although his one is a little different, I guess, due to the fact that I had a near-death experience, so there are a few songs about that obviously.”
