Leazes Get Ready for Summer with Anthemic Cut ‘Sun’s Out’

Often referred to as “Geordie lads”, Leazes add their name to a local indie scene that seems to be on fire, judging by the number of cool acts recently emerging from Newcastle. Celebrated by the likes of BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio UK & USA as well as Future Hits radio, the band’s hard-hitting, catchy character has certainly been noticed. We suspect that ‘Sun’s Out’ will go a long way in taking the group onto bigger stages.

Written as an all-out, anthemic summer banger, ‘Sun’s Out’ is incredibly striking and intense, delivering an euphoric, carefree listening experience, one that brings to mind sunny summer days and playful beer gardens. From a sonic standpoint, the record is flawless, with slick and lush guitar motifs paving the way for Leazes’ fiery vocals. In fact, the single has been recorded with a compelling team, including SugarHouse Productions (Corella, Glass Caves, Viola Beach) and Grammy-nominated Engineer Robin Schmidt (The 1975, Sam Fender, The Kooks).

Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, lead singer Joe King explains: “Sun’s Out is the ultimate feel-good anthem for anyone ready to ditch the daily grind and embrace life’s brighter side. It’s about chasing sunsets, forming new connections, and soaking up every carefree moment with the ones that mean the most. The track appeals to the spontaneous and childlike excitement that comes with summer.”
