Kurt Gott Shares Relatable Gem ‘I Miss the Nightlife’

Often, music assumes the role of our closest confidant. There’s nothing like expressing your deepest thoughts in a song or describing a particular emotion in a poignant lyrical piece. It’s almost a cathartic experience: reversing our consciousness into a record helps us deal with the complex reaction we all experience in our everyday lives. Kurt Gott knows it well: having championed his passion for music for the best part of his adult age, he decided to finally share his songs with the world.

Rallying up a few friends and collaborators on instrumental duties, the Florida talent has managed to deliver a track that feels fresh, yet drenched in the best Americana tradition. ‘I Miss the Nightlife’ is exactly that: a charming gem exploring the intersection between Americana and Rock, eventually showcasing Gott’s unique artistry, particularly evident in his guitar prowess and charismatic, relatable vocals. Other than Kurt, on the record we also find Cary Scope (drums and bass guitar) and Rob Blaney (banjo and Hammond organ).

Lyrically, ‘I Miss the Nightlife’ seeks to remember the old glorious days, celebrating good memories in the process. As Gott explains: “This song is about reflecting back on our younger days and reminiscing about the great times we shared together going out on the town, partying and coming home late at night. In particular, this is about spending those nights with my girlfriend who eventually became my wife.”
