Kete Bowers Returns with Gentle Gem ‘Holy Night’

We already praised Kete Bowers profusely in a recent article; writing about ‘Blackwater’, we proudly declared: “Delivering his lines with immense gravitas and charisma, the British singer-songwriter manages to evoke a myriad of wholesome emotions, penning songs that feel solemn, cathartic and highly introspective.” We stand by our words: the Liverpool-based creative is a nugget of heartwarming lyrical joy, generous on the soul and soothing on the mind.

We are pretty lucky to have discovered him; it’s not easy to forget such nuanced and fine songwriting work, and don’t get us started on his incredible vocal tone: deep, three-dimensional and profoundly evocative, almost cathartic: those are all rare qualities to have, and Bowers has been blessed with them all.

Furthermore, his lyrical delivery is gentle, yet intense too; intimate and straight to the point, ‘Holy Night (A Christmas Song From The War)’ is the perfect evidence of that. Taken from Kete’s upcoming album, the single builds on feathery acoustic guitars, light textures and a discreet, angelic piano, providing the perfect environment for such a contemporary and emotional lyricism. A song that’s bound to cure your inner fears: don’t resist it.
