Joseph Malik Shares Friendly Hip-Hop Tune ‘Be A Lion’

A refreshing slice of old-school hip-hop, ‘Be A Lion’ blends positivity and playful tones with a decisively meaningful message, crafting a track that’s respectful and open to the whole family, while avoiding derogatory terms towards any specific gender and any swear words. Penned by British long-time hip-hop explorer Joseph Malik, the record is immensely groovy yet controlled, leaving ample space for Kameelah Waheed, lending her sharp and relatable vocals to the track.

Based in Edinburgh, Malik teams up with RamRock Records to distribute the song to a wider audience. Fellow Scottish artist Nasty P also appears on the record, making it truly the result of a collaborative effort. We love to see it!

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Malik explains: “Hip-hop music can have a positive message and doesn’t have to be derogatory to women. As a parent, I have never had any swear words in my records and this is reflected on the track.”
