Izzy Pingrey Shares Introspective Album ‘junior’

Busy on her coming-of-age musical journey, Izzy Pingrey debuted earlier this year, unveiling a lyrical world made up of teenage introspection and dubious self-growth. Navigating eclectic pop territories, the New York-based songstress champions a mellow and wholesome style, often built over pop-rock stylings and light distortion. ‘junior’ is the strongest evidence of that. Pingrey’s latest effort, the album is her first full-length release, an evocative and dynamic record showcasing everything Izzy has to offer.

She feels way more mature than her 17-year-old young age. Perhaps is the artistic livery attached to her material, but it’s clear that Pingrey possesses the ability to observe life through a deep emotional lens, using music and arts as a cathartic process. This makes the record very meaningful, and we are confident it’ll find a wide loyal audience out there.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the album, she explains: “Each song on this project represents specific events or emotions that I felt for the first time during my junior year of high school. Being 16 and 17 is (and was) an extremely pivotal time for me- I learned how to stand up for myself (sick of it, narcissus) I fell in love (flatline) and went to my first party and became even closer with some wonderful people (perfume), all for the first time.”
