Grandbrothers Announce Seminal Comeback Album ‘Elsewhere’

Ahead of their upcoming album ‘Elsewhere’, expected on September 26th, German-Turkish creatives Grandbrothers have recently returned with ‘We Collide’, a single that marks their comeback on the international scene after a two-year hiatus. For the uninitiated, it’s perhaps worth delving into the boundary-breaking nature of the European duo, a unique quality that has spearheaded millions of streams and a global following since the project’s debut in 2014.

Formed by pianist Erol Sarp and Swiss engineer/software designer Lukas Vogel, Grandbrothers have long stood by a simple rule: using a grand piano to originate all of the sounds in their records. That’s exactly what they did, crafting expansive, imaginative records with a high degree of dreaminess and ethereal flair.

‘We Collide’ continues on the same vein, yet it also seeks to expand the sonic formula, adding a sprinkling of IDM-esque energy and a hypnotising, feathery beat. The result is still very authentic to Grandbrothers, but supercharged in a positive way, allowing the talented pair to escape the ‘neoclassical’ tag they never quite identified with.

‘We Collide’ also comes with a stunning music video directed by Austrian filmmaker Rupert Höller, who crafted a strong visual counterpart to the track’s kinetic energy. The result is a striking short film that captures the emotional depth and rhythmic intensity of the single in a powerful and atmospheric way.

Grandbrothers’ upcoming album ‘Elsewhere’, releases on September 26, 2025, via their brand new imprint _ and others _.
