It’s always interesting to observe artists kickstart a new era in their musical journey; that’s why we are particularly drawn to ‘Kurt Vibe’, Cori Nora’s comeback single. Following up from her playful and cathartic 2023 album ‘Flowers and Fences’, the Swiss songstress finds a new path forward, one that’s still informed by her former material, yet also fresh and carefree. ‘Kurt Vibe’ is the perfect evidence of that.
Recorded during a five-day session at ARDA Recorders Porto in February, the single picks up where Cori Nora’s left off – eclectic and boundary-pushing indie pop nuggets, now made extra-wholesome by Nora’s talented band, featuring Nick Furrer, Alvin Schwaar and her brother Christoph Huber. ‘Kurt Vibe’ exhibits a more organic flair, part vintage, part soulful, and slightly euphoric. It’s a triumph of kaleidoscopic goodness, further enhanced by the Swiss creative’s imaginative, charming vocals.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Kurt Vibe’, Cori Nora explains: “When people listen to this song, I hope it gives them hope, confidence and energy to be open and go on their own discovery journey. It’s a song that wants to empower you to listen to your inner voice and trust it. It says ‘Don’t give up, you got this.”
