We are rather familiar with London-based kaleidoscopic creative Gina Tanzer. Championing a bold, euphoric and contemporary pop flair, the talented songstress boasts an iconic origin story. Originally from South Africa, Tanzer found early success on a local level, even representing her homeland at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Los Angeles (spoiler: she won a gold medal). Today, she lives in the UK, experiencing the corporate life in an investment bank by day, and producing hard-hitting pop tunes by night.
‘Riding On’ is the latest example of Gina’s artistic prowess. Following up on last year’s ‘Eulogy’, Tanzer seems to embrace a more uplifting, positive direction, still maintaining the lusciousness and veiled sultriness that make her records so vibrant and hypnotising. Echoing the likes of Dua Lipa, among others, the energetic creative commits to a strings-flavoured disco-funk banger, pairing nostalgic tones with anthemic, explosive songwriting. In fact, the whole song is an unbelievable motivational effort, pushing the listeners to keep working hard and making their dreams come true.
As Tanzer explains: “This is one for the independent girlies out there who are busy levelling up, and who every now and then just need that cathartic sassy woman in total control of herself song”. South Africa’s iconic PHFAT aka Mike Zietsman (Jeremy Loops, Matthew Mole, DJ Lag) takes care of mixing and mastering, further building on Gina Tanzer’s explosive sonic vision.
