Gary Dranow Delves into Modern Tones with  ‘JANE’

A decisively more poignant offering than the rest of his catalogue, ‘JANE’ signals Gary Dranow’s further rise into eclectic territories, as he explores neighbouring genres and modern rock stylings. In fact, the single itself is incredibly varied, starting with Led Zeppelin-esque acoustic guitars and then jumping into progressive metal territories as it goes on, navigating high BPM and furious walls of distortion.

Everything screams epicness and cinematic energy, especially in its majestic finale, packed with vocal pathos and catharsis. Joining Dranow on the record we find Chris Zoupa, Jason Jones, and Klim Apalkov, no strangers to the project. An alchemy that seems to be functioning well, given the final result.

Lyrically, ‘JANE’ bathes in fragility and humanity, jumping into love-powered introspection and veiled nostalgia. A bit of a different offering from Dranow, which we welcome, given the size of his artistic output. What can’t he do?
