Emily McLoud Releases Debut EP ‘Sugar Shine’

Emily McLoud is a Texas-based indie-folk singer/songwriter who has just released her beautiful debut EP in the form of ‘Sugar Shine’. A gentle and thoughtful blend of folk, country, and bluegrass, along with more modern sounds thrown into the mix as well, ‘Sugar Shine’ is an EP that truly has something for everyone on it. The opener, ‘So They Say’, is a charming little ditty with sincere and heartfelt lyrics to match. ‘Sugar Shine’, the title track and the centrepiece of the EP, is simply superb. An honest and truthful conversation between parent and child, the delicate tune showcases McLoud at her very best.

The 6-track EP was produced, mixed, and recorded by artist and producer Micah Wagner, with Tim Dolbear doing the mastering at Eclectica Studios in Nashville. In addition to Emily, ‘Sugar Shine’ features several top-notch musicians who provide everything from bass and mandolin to pedal steel and keyboards.

Emily’s appreciation for folk and bluegrass came from an early love for The Grateful Dead, particularly their deep cuts and Jerry Garcia’s solo projects. This, along with her dad’s Neil Diamond records and her classical violin training, has made Emily McLoud who she is today. A hugely gifted musician with who we’ve fallen in love!
