Ellis Evason Challenges the Status Quo in ‘CORE’

There’s something quite hypnotising in the way Evason delivers his lyricism. Not only does he boast a vivid, eloquent and dramatic vocal tone, commanding attention with immense charisma and soul-crushing confidence. He also provides witty and eye-opening lyricism, like in the case of his latest record, acting as an acute criticism towards a government that has repeatedly failed to care for its people.

It truly hits hard. A fiery slice of ice-cold truth, ‘CORE’ sweeps up any remaining societal hopes, drawing the listeners into crepuscular, mysterious territories. On a sonic level, the track is irresistible, with a punchy, sharp and minimal beat underlining smokey bass matter and abstract textures.

Speaking about the record, the British trapper explains: “Do you feel like this country has let you down? Do you feel frustrated by the continuous lack of care for the people? Are you revolted by the holier-than-thou attitude held by the elite while they thoughtlessly indulge in perversions that would make the common man sick?”
