E.Z.O. Returns with Bold EP ‘Summer Pack 2’

The keen reader might remember New York City-based rapper and creative E.Z.O. from a feature we published earlier this year, celebrating the artist’s appearance on Hang The Line with his track ‘HDYL’. Back then, it was immediately clear how malleable and catchy E.Z.O.’s vocals were, a cocktail of genius lyricism and reflective theming, all soaked into uplifting and bright hip-hop goodness. ‘Summer Pack 2’ is the perfect evidence of that. Following up from – you guessed it – ‘Summer Pack 1’, the new EP features three fierce, bold offerings.

Among them, we find ‘Judo Chop!’, a piece that sees East London creative Kyro joining in on the action. The alchemy between him and E.Z.O. is undeniable, with the pair riffing freely on a soulful, minimalistic beat. ‘PEAK FICTION.’ pursues a more anthemic, epic path, especially shining during its hypnotic, gloomy chorus. Opener ‘Tango’ sees the American rapper getting back to basics, with a bouncy, dance-inducing instrumental providing a fitting aural background for intense, playful and observant rapping.

Delving deeper into the EP, E.Z.O. explains: “‘Summer Pack 2’ showcases similar to the last one. It’s an embodiment of where my summer has been. Self-reflection. Bars. Lyricism challenging. You name it. It doesn’t have as much to change outside since, as mentioned previously, there is a tendency to splash into new styles without purpose, and I didn’t want to do that. This EP is just the next step toward my goals.”
