Downtown Patriots Shows His Love for 90s Grunge with ‘Said And Done’

Suffolk-based multi-instrumentalist Danny Watts is the brains behind Downtown Patriots, and he’s just unleashed a killer new single called ‘Said And Done’. The tune is actually the last song on Watt’s new album ‘Dance Out Of The Dark’, and I think it’s a genius idea to release it as a single. A classic breakup song, ‘Said And Done’ sees Danny showcasing his love for 90s grunge and good old-fashioned rock ‘n’ roll. A delicate thirty-second opener quickly descends into a rocky, gritty, and edgy track, with pounding drums, thumping basslines, some seriously impressive guitar work, and Watts’ husky vocals. Just perfect in every way!

The artist is influenced by a wide variety of musicians and bands; Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Twenty One Pilots, Jeff Buckley, Beach Boys, Van Halen, and Stone Temple Pilots to name just a few. I think it’s this vast array of sounds and styles that has allowed Watts to create what I like to call “the Downtown Patriots sound”. It’s uniquely and unequivocally Danny!

I’m about to sink my teeth into the entire ‘Dance Out Of The Dark’ album. Watts’ raw energy and emotion have really resonated with me, and he’s a musician that I’ll certainly be following closely.

Serious tune alert! Enjoy ‘Said And Done’ on Spotify now:
