Discover The Dodies’ Pensive Tune ‘Won’t Last’

In April of last year, Tel Aviv-based garage rock duo The Dodies released their sophomore album, ‘Floating in Limbo’. Track ten was a tune called ‘Won’t Last’, and it was the second single The Dodies released from the album. It’s a song I recently came across and haven’t been able to get out of my head ever since! Paying an ode to “meditative mantras from stoicism and Buddhism deriving from their meaning of being present in the moment,” Yoni Avittan and Ran Aronson produce a hypnotic, spacy, and infectious masterpiece. The repetitive nature of the lyrics, intertwined with the dreamy soundscape, creates something of a mantra in and of itself.

“The lyrics in the chorus are part of my daily mantras when I meditate,” says Yoni. “All that I know is now, all that I know won’t last”. The tune is a calming, soothing, and introspective journey that offers up a message modern society could seriously listen to!

I highly recommend giving the entire ‘Floating in Limo’ album a listen. Co-produced by Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, (Guns N’ Roses, Art of Anarchy, Sons of Apollo) it’s a wonderfully eclectic and fresh mix of sounds and styles. We’re loving The Dodies!
