Listening to ‘ANATOMY’, one tends to melt away into the dreamy and ethereal sonic universe the record has to offer. How could it not be? Made up of intimate, personal and understated material, the album proceeds with caution while delivering evocative, luscious vocals, electronic soundscapes and light, minimal beats. Jorden Albright hits the mark on this one, channelling her unique artistry into six wonderful tracks. Based in Knoxville, TN, the young talent has been producing at home since 2015, and it shows: the familiar and comforting sound material has a certain ‘bedroom pop’ allure to it.
It’s also much more. RnB, Soul and Electronica, all helping to characterize ‘ANATOMY’ as a timeless and relevant album. Inspired by the likes of Jhene Aiko, Alvvays, Frank Ocean and BROCKHAMPTON, among others, Albright has created a project that celebrates and reflects upon the body in all its complexity. From taking the time to prioritize oneself in “melatonin” to coming home to oneself in “bones,” each track is a journey of self-discovery and growth.
Not to worry, she was able to attract a sizeable audience, amassing over 150K followers on TikTok alone (@_jorden_). We are confident it’s just the beginning of a glorious and long career, seeing the potential in the project.
