A wonderful slice of musical comedy, ‘I’m The Quarterback!’ takes a cue from Jeff Schubert’s creative universe. An entertainer, writer and actor, the Los Angeles-based talent seems to know no bounds, active on a multitude of artistic fronts with a striking holistic perspective. His latest effort is rather playful and witty, with a light and bright play on a fundamental issue in American Football, the NFL quarterbacks’ salaries.
Boasting a catchy, hypnotising spin, ‘I’m The Quarterback!’ features hero Jeff Schubert playing an exhilarating part, a childish and demanding quarterback. Next to him, groupies and fellow fans help complete the visual and sonic picture, in an exquisite marriage of musical comedy and colourful, easy-going footage. As Schubert explains: “Putting the finishing touches on lyrics I had previously scribbled down, finding the perfect pulsing beat, and a reignited passion, all the stars aligned—this project felt destined to be made.”
Jeff also holds a passion for social work, marking him as not only an enlightened artist but as a kind, giving soul. Most recently, he has worked at an intensive inpatient program in Pacoima, CA, supporting adults with dual diagnoses of mental illness and substance abuse.
