Chris Emmanuel Shares Personal, Reflective EP ‘The Fallout’

A highly personal and transformative record, ‘The Fallout’ is directly related to Chris Emmanuel’s personal experience, as he navigates the ups and downs of life and works on himself. The resulting sonic material is fierce and bold, moving with charisma and a certain minimalism. It’s quite a dry record, from a production standpoint. The beats are tight and bouncy, revealing intense hip-hop flair and relatable rap goodness; Emmanuel’s vocals inevitably dominate the EP.

Packing six vibrant episodes, ‘The Fallout’ also contains a keen, soulful influence, a quality that makes the record even more luscious and evocative. Originally from Guyana and now based in Ontario, Canada, Chris seems to have struck gold once again, slowly blooming into the visionary creative he’s always been.

Delving deeper into the inspiration behind the EP, he explains: “While reflecting on my commitment to self-improvement, I portray the ups and downs of working on myself. The songs serve as a diary of sorts, where I revisit my past transgressions, seeking understanding and forgiveness. Through this musical endeavour, I aim to transform my mistakes into lessons, creating a narrative of redemption and self-awareness.”
