Chloe Dunn Melds Classical and Electronica in Celestial EP ‘Blossom’

It took us a while to put pen to paper while listening to ‘Blossom’. In truth, the record is incredibly sui generis and authentic, not playing by any previously set rules or by any precise formula. Simply, it pursues its own unique path, informed by Chloe Dunn‘s borderless artistry. A talented British musician, composer and singer based in France, Dunn has long committed to blending her orchestral and classical upbringing with fringe electronica and cinematic soundscapes, evoking an aural space that sits between folk, electronica and leftfield.

Yet, labels won’t do ‘Blossom’ any justice. Packing six soothing and meditative pieces (including a heartfelt rendition of ‘Amazing Grace’), the EP wraps listeners into a hazy, ethereal sonic universe, one where Dunn’s timeless vocals and poignant strings are boldly resonating, before being elevated by a tapestry of soft electronic tones. Within it all, it’s especially rewarding to recognise Chloe’s fine compositional ethos, as she layers magnetic melodies and velvety, celestial harmonies.

Delving deeper into the record, Dunn explains: “This EP represents the blossoming of my own musical style. I discovered my voice through working with loops and effects, which allow me to construct unique soundscapes. My pedals become my paintbrushes, letting me add colour and intensity to my musical expression.”
