Chisom Shares Latest Album ‘Bracelets’

Emerging from Washington, Chisom is the latest hip-hop talent to hit our airwaves (or our pages). With a unique flow and thought-provoking, passionate lyricism, he’s quickly making its way to international attention, a feature that he might have well-reached thanks to his latest effort, the album ‘Bracelets’. Balanced over a peculiar and charismatic blend of afro-pop and hip-hop, the record is a soulful and introspective exploration of the material world we live in, declined through Chisom’s universal artistry.

From the opening track ‘PSA’, – setting the tone for the rest of the album with its hard-hitting and dynamic message – to the personal gem ‘Enough’, the album sees Chisom delving into the struggle between chasing material possessions and finding true happiness. In that sense, ‘Bracelets’ is a cohesive and well-crafted body of work, giving us a sense of the American artist’s deep-rooted perspective on modern society and the human condition. The title track features a somewhat painful recollection of police misconduct, witnessed in first person by Chisom.

While personal experiences are a cornerstone of the record, we should also focus on the sonic aspects of it. You see, Chisom manages to create music that feels nostalgic, drenched in tradition, while looking at the future. What more could you want?
