Chandra Share Passionate Protest Song ‘We Want Our Planet Back’

Chandra is back at it! The English rock band is one of the most positive and euphoric figures in rock music, not just musically but in a general, holistic way. Their music is exuberant yet also meaningful and elegant, a blend of purpose and guitar energy that strikes listeners deeply. We last wrote about Chandra during Christmas, when they contributed to the festive feeling in their own personal way. Now, the Bristol-based group has returned with a rather genius take on music videos, sharing a brand new track, ‘We Want Our Planet Back’.

Maintaining Chandra’s aim to release brand new music every two months, ‘We Want Our Planet Back’ doubles down on the band’s societal-focused commentary. Their lyricism is often meaningful and steeped in contemporary events, an ever-relevant feature, especially in our gloomy and negative times. Drenched in classic hard-rock elements and catchy, anthemic vocals, the record takes a hard look at the state of climate change and what’s being done about it, concluding that more must be done by world leaders.

As Chandra eloquently explains: “Especially now in 2025, it feels like every time we take a small step in the right direction we are dragged back again by money, power and greed. This song is a call to arms, a protest song… a unifying surge of energy that reminds us we can take our planet back if we work together and shout loud enough.”
