Celeste Marie Wilson Shares Evocative Piece ‘If I Sin For You’

Boasting an elegant, whimsical character, American songstress Celeste Marie Wilson is on a mission to refine classic pop. The way she goes about it is rather hypnotising, as displayed in her latest single and video, ‘If I Sin For You?’. Wrapped in a fierce and bold sonic livery, the record is both gentle and striking. Introduced by a gentle and heartwarming piano and Wilson’s sharp, evocative vocals, the track then gradually raises the intensity with rolling drums and roaring guitars.

It all explodes in the chorus, where Wilson reveals her mask – there’s a great deal of fierceness behind her seemingly innocuous, ethereal figure, a perfect match for the project’s introspective, hard-hitting lyricism. Both lovable and controversial, ‘If I Sin For You?’ makes even more sense when compared to Celeste’s home territories, aka Texas. Weaving old-school societal pressure put on women by a strongly religious society, the single serves as an oblique liberation anthem, concluding that “maybe freedom and sin are more intertwined than we think”

‘If I Sin For You?’ ships with a stunning music video, a visual depiction of Wilson’s potent aural character.
