BODIES Share Electrifying, Gloomy Album ‘Ores’

A nuanced, meaningful record, ‘Ores’ showcases the deep creative commitment of Irish band BODIES. Known for their brooding indie and post-punk character, the project enjoys a variety of aural outlets, be it indie-flavoured evocative, melancholic pieces or furious, guitar-powered cuts. Whichever way you look at it, BODIES’ music is incredibly hypnotic, sparking a listening experience that’s electrifying and memorable.

‘Ores’ is the perfect evidence of that, and not just because of their instrumental charge, but also due to their reflective, gloomy lyricism. Taking a closer look at societal flaws and personal pain, the album feels particularly intimate and hard-hitting, not necessarily thanks to big distortions, but more because of its understated, yet striking cathartic precision.

BODIES seem to confirm it all: “‘Ores’ is a raw examination of collapse and endurance, born from the intersection of personal crisis and societal decay. Written during a period when frontman David Anthony’s health deteriorated alongside his witnessing of Dublin and Ireland’s mounting social failures, the album serves as both an indictment and a testament to human resilience.”
