BAIBA Returns with Tender, Nostalgic Piece ‘Home’

It’s been a comeback year for BAIBA. The Latvian-born, Austria-based songstress has blessed the global airwaves with her blend of dreamy, dark-pop allure and evocative, reflective lyricism, with ‘Stalker’ and ‘Darkest Hour’ having showcased the project’s songwriting depth and wide influences. In fact, we previously celebrated BAIBA as developing an “euphoric and fierce lyrical universe”, a nod to the heightened creativity she often displays in her work. Well, such a statement is even more true today, as we familiarise ourselves with BAIBA’s latest offering ‘Home’.

Compared to ‘Stalker’, ‘Home’ sees the Innsbruck-based creative taking a step back from anthemic electro-pop, instead finding a worthy refuge in dreamier, hazier indie-folk and indie-pop territories. With acoustic guitars at the forefront, ‘Home’ also delivers a great deal of introspection and heartfelt catharsis, with BAIBA’s stunningly expressive vocals wrapped into spacious textures and an overall sense of lusciousness. Taken from the project’s upcoming album ‘Delusional’, expected in April ‘26, ‘Home’ renews the artistic partnership with producer Moritz Kristmann, operating out of Vienna.

Delving deeper into the record, BAIBA explains: “It’s about the never-ending question: what is home, is it people, places, or something inside of us? I wanted to honour both the beauty of where I grew up and the need to leave in order to find my own happiness.”
