Sharing an overwhelmingly nostalgic, soulful character, ‘Live Your Life’ is a highly hypnotising offering. Part disco, part classic house and certainly boasting a heightened pop character, the record also benefits from Andrew E Pearce‘s gospel influences, especially when it comes to his luscious, expressive and anthemic tones, truly potent and dynamic. It particularly reminds us of the kind of vocals one could find in a house record from the late 80s, early 90s. It makes sense, as we suspect such a scene is an integral part of Pearce’s eclectic musical influences.
Yet, ‘Live Your Life’ is way more meaningful and personal than one could ever predict. Inspired by Andrew’s triumphal battle with cancer – having fought it and overcome it twice – the song celebrates resilience and empowerment, looking at the human existence from a thankful, positive perspective. After all, such a painful experience tends to change one’s outlook on life, as Pearce explains: “After overcoming so many obstacles, I’m living my life from a place of gratitude. Every day is a gift.”
Delving deeper into the record, Andrew continues: “This song is my way of spreading that message to the world.
