Aliiias Drops Kinetic, Immersive Album ‘Numb’

‘Numb’ is what we’d define as dual-faced electronica, made for dimly lit alternative club rooms as well as intimate listening sessions.

There’s something deeply immersive in ‘Numb’. It’s what we’d define as dual-faced electronica, made for dimly lit alternative club rooms as well as intimate listening sessions. Such a dynamic quality speaks volumes about the eclectic artistry championed by Aliiias. Hailing from Canada, the talented DJ and producer is crowning two years of relentless personal and professional growth, a period packed with collaboration with the likes of Don Diablo’s Hexagon label and Alison Wonderland’s FMU Records.

It’s clear that the industry has taken notice of Aliiias, and he’s not passing unobserved. Having gained support from Martin Garrix and Dr. Fresch, among others, Aliiias appears set for a bright future. In that sense, ‘Numb’ sounds like a potent creative statement, a way to showcase everything the project has to offer. From vocal-laden, pop-leaning cuts such as ‘Good Girl’ to ‘Sleep’s ambient-coded soundscapes, the record is best enjoyed with an open mind and an equally important open heart.

Delving deeper into the album, Aliiias explains: “This album reflects on two years of progression and levelling up. Each project has its own time and place to belong. ‘Numb’ represents the past couple years of struggles for me intimately. There doesn’t necessarily have to be a point to it for the listener. It’s more about the feeling and the stage/chapter that it falls into. I want the listener to make it whatever they want it to be. It is what it is, and it fits where I was at the time perfectly.”
