Agent Envy Returns with Alt-Rock Flavoured Banger ‘No Friend’

There’s a great deal of genius in Agent Envy’s work. Firstly, the Californian talent channels modern alt-rock and emo tones, while keeping a strong pop component in her melodies and vocals. Secondly, she manages to drench everything with pride and fury, pushing a winning personal and authentic style. ‘No Friend’ is Agent Envy’s latest single: compared to her previous releases, the track draws conspicuous inspiration from the alt-scene of early millennia, while keeping impressive vocal range and driving guitars.

Agent Envy is no stranger to music. Growing up, she took lessons in piano, guitar and singing, exploring songwriting and musical theatre. She’s now based in San Diego and producing music of her own. With influences ranging from Massive Attack and Tool to PVRIS and Metric, her sound is unique and special – it contains a charming and mesmerising quality that can’t be denied.

Listening to ‘No Friend’ is like stepping into a dark, energetic musical landscape and being swept away. The song’s emotive mix of sultry lows and belted highs against melodic guitars and synths will have you hooked from the first note. Lyrically, the San Diego resident kindly reminds us all that we can make a stand and say “enough is enough” when the situation calls for it.

Don’t sleep on it, this record is bound to blow up.
