What if we told you that Vinyl Floor is not only a great-sounding rock duo, but also a family affair? Daniel and Thomas Charlie Pedersen are the talented brothers behind the project, inspired singers, musicians and songwriters with a long career behind them. For reference, they first released music in 2009. Years may have passed, but their passion for music has not waned one bit, as showcased in Vinyl Floor’s latest effort, ‘Balancing Act’.
From a sonic standpoint, the album is steeped in easy-leaning goodness, a stream of lovable melodic rock that enjoys the occasional eclectic episode. Across thirteen tracks, ‘Balancing Act’ offers listeners a collection of songs wrapped in nostalgic arrangements, guitar-leaning allure and a clean, elegant aesthetic. Besides the group’s core rock ethos, the record also includes the addition of horns, strings, and electronic elements, here performed by the likes of Bebe Risenfors, Christian Ellegaard, and Daniel Hecht.
Delving deeper into the album’s meaningful outlook, Vinyl Floor explain: “‘Balancing Act’ is an album about trying to balance life and searching for beauty and meaning in a world full of chaos, treason, insecurity and false promises. A world which itself currently seems out of balance.” We appreciate the Danish duo’s observant, relevant lyricism, as they grapple with a chaotic reality without losing optimism, holding on to hope and yearning for a better future.
