UCHAYE Drops Bold Debut EP ‘WAR IS OV3R’

UCHAYE has recently unveiled her Debut EP ‘WAR IS OV3R’, a punchy and bold five-track offering that lays the path for a potentially exuberant career.

There’s a new player in the global rock landscape, and her name is UCHAYE. Hailing from Minneapolis and with Nigerian-Zimbabwean roots, the talented songwriter and guitarist has recently unveiled her debut EP ‘WAR IS OV3R’, a punchy and bold five-track offering that lays the path for a potentially exuberant career. Drenched in personal storytelling but with a universal, relatable message, the EP is bound to connect with a global audience.

From a sonic standpoint, ‘WAR IS OV3R’ enjoys quite a variety of influences, embracing rock music with strong eclecticism and nostalgic allure. ‘Survive’ bathes in early ‘2000s pop-punk references, as opposed to ‘Denial’, which travels towards a more classic rock direction. ‘Currency’ is definitely the modern episode of the record, here built on a chaotic, gritty pop formula. ‘Live Wire’ is a massive throw-back to kinetic riffs and 80s-leaning stadium anthems.

Delving deeper into the rebellious ethos that propels the record, UCHAYE explains: “‘WAR IS OV3R’ is about transformation and how the things that break us can ultimately shape who we become. The record moves through heartbreak, denial, survival, and ambition before arriving at something greater: freedom.” Such purposeful lyricism is deeply rooted in the artist’s own journey, with UCHAYE slowly gaining the confidence and the power to guide her own destiny.
