Stevoo Hide Shares Emotional, Meaningful Jewel ‘Nothing Really Matters’

This is a special song for Stevoo Hide, one that not only emerges from a place of true vulnerability and emotional turmoil, but one that also paves the way for the project’s upcoming EP.

We approach ‘Nothing Really Matters’ with a certain poignancy and respect, knowing full well how important the record is for its author, Brighton-based musician and songwriter Stevoo Hide. Originally from Italy, the talented creative has taken a central role in producing and even performing the majority of the instruments in ‘Nothing Really Matters’. He even went as far as getting the track mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Stefan Brown.

This is a special song for Stevoo Hide, one that not only emerges from a place of true vulnerability and emotional turmoil, but one that also paves the way for the project’s upcoming EP. We love the idea of the song providing an almost mythological Phoenix moment for the Italian troubadour; while he was dealing with the fallout of a painful band breakup, ‘Nothing Really Matters’ functioned as a cathartic escape, a way to finally put all the grief behind him and hope for a new beginning.

Delving deeper into the meaningful lyrical outlook that propels the record, Stevoo Hide explains: “When I wrote it, my voice was thin, I was emotionally broken, my heart ripped, and I would cry while writing it; it encapsulates a lot of my grief about my situation at the time and also about our world. I felt so weak that I couldn’t move, but one day I just stood up again and faced my life, faced the fragility of the real and walked through it.”
