Hailing from London, Spinors have recently unveiled their third single to date, ‘You loved the cage’, a track that follows up on previous cuts ‘Choose to believe’ and ‘Walk Alone’. The record ships with a steampunk-inspired music video directed by head honcho Sergie Code, with cinematography by Jay Notley. The visuals shift the project into alternative culture, while retaining the song’s overwhelming immediacy.
From a sonic standpoint, ‘You loved the cage’ feels bold and electrifying, a mixture of hard-rock charisma and alternative grit that also carries a strong lyrical nuance. Guided by Code’s malleable and powerful vocals, the track feels kinetic and melancholic at the same time, a gloomy dive into the complexity of the human experience. Of course, the aural livery around Code’s songwriting is much more immediate and hypnotic; we are surprised at how much energy a simple trio can produce. Gabe and Cristina complete the line-up on bass and drums during live shows.
Delving deeper into the creative ethos that propels the project, the group explains: “A SPINOR is a quantum property of particles that can exist in multiple states at once, but when observed, it takes on a definite state. We named the band SPINORS because our music stays undefined until you listen to it, letting you shape it with your own experiences and perspective”.
