Formerly known as Mason Noise and an X-Factor alumnus, Matreya returned last year with a renewed focus on his music career, now centred around spirituality and positive empowerment. Following up on ‘Be Love’, the talented creative has now unveiled ‘Truth’, a collaboration with globally recognised channeler, author and musician Lee Harris. The synergy between these two forward-thinking and bold figures gives birth to an expansive, inspiring record.
Shipping with a rather epic and cinematic music video, ‘Truth’ takes shape as a hypnotic, cathartic piece, with Matreya’s evocative melodies delivering a charismatic call-and-response with Harris’ spiritual guidance. “Your flame isn’t done”, Lee explains, helping the song slide into a celestial outro. Producer Davor Bozic crafts an eclectic arrangement, using native flutes, orchestral textures and even a Pakistani qawwali to give the record a world music feel.
From a lyrical standpoint, ‘Truth’ unfolds as a passionate search for authenticity initiated by Matreya. The enlightened guidance of Harris then turns such a quest into universal storytelling, centring the question “Can you see the future we are building here and now?”. What started as individual despair and confusion blooms into collective empowerment, potentially leading to life-changing realisations that will connect to a wide audience out there. After all, who’s not looking for answers in such a chaotic reality?
