Also known as the lead singer of acclaimed post-punk duo The Heroic Enthusiasts, James Tabbi is now fully focused on his solo project, an endeavour that has so far delivered a few bold remixes for the likes of David Cloyd and Head to the Roots. Recently, Tabbi has also unveiled his original debut, ‘Slow Slow Slow’, a hypnotic piece that sees him gearing up for a forthcoming album, ‘A Temporary Resident’, out next year via Meridian (ECR Music Group).

Moving with crepuscular force and a keen retro livery, ‘Slow Slow Slow’ sees Tabbi teaming up with acclaimed producer Ben Hillier (Depeche Mode, Blur, Elbow), crafting a piece that borrows heavily from primordial synth-pop influences and fuzzy darkwave tones. Delving deeper into the creative ethos that propels the song, James Tabbi explains: “It’s a song about the friction between fighting an emotional current and finally choosing to surrender to it. I feel Ben and I captured that melancholic, vulnerable moment when you stop resisting and let yourself be completely and thoughtfully pulled into the depths of another person.” The result speaks for itself: an intoxicating dark piece that’s packed with tension and sombre lust.
