Astral Rocks Share Hard-Hitting, Fierce Single ‘The Flame in Me’

‘The Flame in Me’ marks the beginning of a new phase for Astral Rocks, one that still sees its founder in charge of songwriting and creative direction, yet expands the instrumental and vocal roles to a number of truly talented and like-minded folks.

A glance at Astral Rocks’ Instagram bio reveals their eclectic, pan-European ethos: “created by a British-Swiss songwriter in a Portugal-based band…” Originally born as a solo endeavour, the project then became a full-on collaborative band, a feature that gives Astral Rocks a very peculiar musical edge. ‘The Flame in Me’ is the perfect evidence of that: marking the group’s latest single, the track embraces a partly nostalgic AOR character, sounding both catchy and meaningful, gritty and thunderous.

The new record marks the beginning of a new phase, one that still sees its founder in charge of songwriting and creative direction, yet expands the instrumental and vocal roles to a number of truly talented and like-minded folks. As Astral Rocks explain: “This is not an ending. It is an ignition. The songwriting and overall spirit remain the same, but a full band brings a new level of force, depth and life to the songs.”

In the case of ‘The Flame in Me’, vocal duty is taken by Gisela Lopes, offering her striking, potent tone to the Astral Rocks’ cause. It’s a match made in heaven, one that perfectly relates to the single’s empowering, meaningful ethos. As we are told: “The flame stands for passion, transformation and the fire that keeps us creating. It lives in all of us, and now it burns brighter than ever.”
