Discover Charlie Diamond Vibrant Americana in ‘That Diamond Dream’

Part hopeful and part introspective, the piece develops with simple kinetic energy and a timeless arrangement, truly capturing the spirit of nostalgic Americana.

As we enter Charlie Diamond’s Folk-tinged and Country-leaning artistic universe, we can’t help but think about the American troubadour as a sort of mythical creature, a gifted creative who largely moves outside of any recognised scene or mainstream landscape. Instead, he’s built a wholesome, localised audience which appreciates the project’s nostalgic allure and relatable lyricism. Not just an artist, Diamond is also an experienced firefighter, a sign that Charlie is totally devoted to the community and to helping others.

Sporting a certain affinity for wandering across the country with a guitar, enticing audiences across state lines, Charlie Diamond has been busy releasing a bunch of really good songs lately. One of them is ‘That Diamond Dream’, released back in October just before ‘A Guslinger Tale’. We’ll particularly focus on the former single in this review, a strong example of Diamond’s Americana and Country character. Part rowdy and part introspective, the piece develops with simple kinetic energy and a timeless arrangement, truly capturing the spirit of the ’60s and ’70s. Charlie’s vocals are almost hypnotic, here delivered with a lighthearted, optimistic flair.

Part of what makes ‘That Diamond Dream’ so wholesome is the fact that it’s been recorded in a cabin in the woods, called On Deck Sound Studios. Delving deeper into the song, Charlie explains: “A tale of an underdog who keeps rising higher and higher. No matter how hard the world pushes you down, anything is possible when you always take the risk!!!”
