We enter Kansh’s expansive aural universe with religious respect and euphoric curiosity. The project appears to be in full bloom: boasting hundreds of thousands of listeners across streaming services and social media, the talented US-based world-builder, producer and creator has slowly carved out a personal style that’s incredibly hypnotic and evocative, but also edgy and forward-thinking. Kansh’s latest album, ‘SAFIRE’, is the perfect example of that. Released last year, the record showcases the intoxicating modernity and sonic eclecticism that make the project such a peculiar gem.
Often described as Cloud Rap or Alternative Hip-Hop, ‘SAFIRE’ simply stands at the intersections of pop, R&B, hip hop, and electronica, a concoction of mesmerising aural goodness that well adapts to the internet age, especially thanks to its overly evocative and melancholic allure. Partly lo-fi, ‘SAFIRE’ borrows distorted, pitched-down textures from behemoth cultural movements such as vaporwave, only to then reframe it all under a bedroom-producer, beatmaking lens. Don’t get us wrong, Kansh is past the point of being a bedroom producer, having now become a full-blown global sensation.
Delving deeper behind his music, Kansh explains: “I channel my emotions and life into my art because it’s the one place I can be completely honest”. It’s such authenticity that makes the project’s music so irresistible and relatable. Looking forward to an exciting 2026; Kansh is stepping up, once again.
