Anyone can claim to be a songwriter, yet only a few have anything to show for it. That’s certainly not the case for Celeste Marie Wilson. The rising Texan songstress has been garnering an impressive wave of support for her project and art, earning approval from organisations such as the Texas State Songwriters Championship, the Hollywood Independent Music Awards, and the Josie Awards, among others.
It’s easy to see why: Wilson has the rare ability of crafting nostalgic, evocative pop nuggets steeped in elegance and softness, notwithstanding the moments of fierceness and empowerment that seep through the cracks from time to time. We never call anyone the ‘real deal’, yet on this occasion, we just might. ‘Ever Wanted’ appears to be forcing our hand: marking Celeste’s latest offering, the single is incredibly nuanced and wholesome, steeped in a high degree of relatability and teenage trepidation.
Narrating the highs and lows of young love, the song perfectly showcases Wilson’s ability to translate human emotions into aural form. Props must be given to her vocals, too, precise and melodic, elegant and clean. ‘Ever Wanted’ is shipped with a like-minded music video produced by Cold Creek Productions. Delving deeper behind ‘Ever Wanted’, Wilson explains: “A Cinderella story so perfect it just might come true.”
