It’s been a while since we heard from Wednesday’s Child. Since their 2023 EP ‘Seven Sisters’, to be exact. Of course, the London-based, female-led band never truly went away, always bubbling under the surface, performing all over the British capital’s most hyped and prestigious venues, and developing quite a reputation for their theatrical, intense and evocative live shows. Perhaps that’s what makes the project so real and expressive; they are not just a digital phenomenon or a bunch of numbers on a screen; they are passionate, gifted human beings who embrace art-making in a holistic and cathartic way.
This is an important talking point; we often come across bands and artists that seem more interested in ‘making it’ in the music industry, rather than actually having something to say from a songwriting and sonic perspective. Well, with Wednesday’s Child, almost the opposite happens. They appear more interested in jumping on a stage and fully embodying their songs, taking the crowd with them on a uniquely vibrant and wholesome aural journey, part melancholic and part psychedelic.
Anyway, let’s get back to practical duties; the British outfit has now returned with a brand new single, ‘KNEES’, an intense fragment of art-rock elegance steeped in fuzzy distortions and brooding poetry. The track anticipates Wednesday’s Child’s forthcoming EP ‘All Dressed Up’, expected on 6th February 2026 and paired with a headline show at The Lexington. Be there.
About the EP, the group explains: “‘All Dressed Up’ deals with psychological struggles and confrontations, healing new wounds whilst still mourning old scars.”
