Japanese Rock Heroes WENDY Set to Conquer the UK in October

Hailing from Japan, exuberant rock outfit WENDY has already caught the attention of crucial homegrown tastemakers, having features on NHK World-Japan’s global music program J-MELO and performed at festivals SUMMER SONIC and METROCK, among others. The group’s euphoric charge is undeniable: championing a raw, gritty and rather old-school outlook, WENDY enjoys a rather vibrant sound, with fuzzy guitars and rolling drums mirroring the band’s wholesome, authentic character.

‘Pull Me In’ is the perfect evidence of that; an all-out anthemic cut, the track feels carefree and fun, delivering a slice of relentless rock’n’roll euphoria to anyone keen to listen. We are indeed keen to listen, as WENDY’s roaring artistry hypnotises us. The Japanese trio is now gearing up for a British invasion, so to speak, with their first London show set for November 17th, under the guise of bold imprint JPU Records. Plus, their debut album ‘Don’t Waste My Youth’ will be released UK-wide on vinyl on October 13. Get the show and vinyl here

While ‘Pull Me In’ showcases the amount of energy and charisma WENDY have to offer, ‘Pledge of Love’, also out now, navigates the band’s softer side, with evocative songwriting and a more poised arrangement. Approachable and relatable, we have no doubt that the Japanese project will make waves in the UK – just a matter of time.
