A fascinating offering, ‘Favorite Game’ marks our entry point into SERAh’s imaginative, expansive creative universe. A talented DJ and visionary producer, the American artist drives a rather multidisciplinary project, pairing her bass-lenient EDM flair with sci-fi and futuristic visuals, slowly unfurling a cinematic saga eloquently called ‘Lyra’s World’. ‘Favorite Game’ follows up from SERAh’s debut effort, ‘In Front Of Me’, released earlier this summer.
Overall, the listening experience spearheaded by the project is incredibly epic, electrifying and anthemic. You see, staying true to her modern, boundary-pushing ethos, SERAh crafts evocative, cathartic pieces that excel in both luscious melodies and hard-hitting beats, an aural chiaroscuro constantly oscillating between light and darkness. The cherry on the cake is provided by Summer Rona’s hypnotic, potent vocals. Borrowing from mainstream EDM as much as it does from underground dubstep, ‘Favorite Game’ showcases the continuous evolution and improvement of the American sonic alchemist.
The single also features a striking music video, set to be released in the near future. For now, we are happy to familiarise ourselves with ‘Favorite Game’, a track that can be considered another piece of the puzzle belonging to a much wider, longstanding project. And of course, you can call it all the SERAh’s Cinematic Universe (SCU), a certainly ambitious, yet promising name.
