KENTON Gears Up for Upcoming Album with Glamorous Pop Cut ‘Dirty Laundry’

Honest, personal, but also rather tongue-in-cheek and laidback, ‘Dirty Laundry’ is KENTON at his coolest. A slice of dance-inducing, glamorous pop goodness, the record anticipates the Los Angeles-based creative’s upcoming album ‘Sweetmouth’, out on October 17th. ‘Dirty Laundry’ gracefully concludes a set of four singles that have highlighted KENTON’s return to the industry. In truth, he never left; he was constantly writing and positively developing his sound.

Written by KENTON and collaborator Eric Cannata (Young the Giant), ‘Dirty Laundry’ is a rather vulnerable effort, especially from a lyrical standpoint. Reflecting on his role within his family, the American talent manages to stay playfully honest and wholesome on the record, yet never descending into poignancy, always keeping up the pace – a sign of great maturity.

As KENTON explains: “I have always felt guilty for putting personal matters in my songs, because my father, a pastor, would have to answer to his congregation about his ‘wild gay son’. My parents’ greatest fear is that because I work in entertainment, I’m going to end up sex trafficked and addicted to drugs. Well, I’ve been touring for years now, and so far so good. But I’m done hiding. So what if I’m queer? So what if I drink? Work in entertainment? Time to face my greatest shame and let it all out.”
