Manpreet Kundi Returns with ‘unresolved (deluxe)’ EP

It’s been almost a year since ‘unresolved’ EP saw the light of day, yet Manpreet Kundi is not done with it, having just unleashed a revised ‘deluxe’ version of the record. A personal, vulnerable and introspective effort, ‘unresolved’ welcomes a new charming addition, ‘closure’, a rather cathartic and wistful track. Accepting the end of a relationship, the new single feels like the kind of song that can only be written once the painful phase of a breakup is over.

Embracing acceptance and looking ahead with hopeful, gentle eyes, ‘closure’ sees Kundi moving on, personally but also musically. The EP’s deluxe version does suggest that she’s ready for a new chapter, and we certainly look forward to that. From an aural standpoint, Manpreet is the best she’s ever been, with soothing folk pop wrapping us all into a calming, evocative and elegant listening experience.

‘unresolved (deluxe)’ also includes a couple of live acoustic recordings. Delving deeper into the ‘closure’, Kundi explains: “The new song was inspired by a Friends episode, the one where Monica and Richard break up whilst slow dancing at a wedding. Monica asks ‘so what now?’ and Richard replies ‘I guess we just keep dancing’. I imagined how a final, unspoken dance together could serve as closure, since I was still searching for my own.”
