One of the most unique projects we have ever laid eyes upon, Swimming Pool unleash today their debut EP, ‘Line Cuts’, featuring standout single ‘Wednesday Kinda Weekend’. Following up from previously released pieces ‘Calling’ and ‘Sunday’, the Dutch-Swiss duo has now revealed a more expansive aural snapshot of their artistry, and it’s as ethereal and decadent as we would have expected.
Oscillating between gentle folk efforts and sharp, experimental electronica, Swimming Pool moves with incredible elegance and weightlessness, indulging in the occasional orchestral texture and psychedelic allure whenever needed. Their vocals are both soothing and evocative, and they truly seem to know how to play with minimalism, space and ambient soundscapes. ‘Wednesday Kinda Weekend’ is perhaps the exception to the rule, with a hypnotic ballad-like formula that feels timeless and nostalgic at the same time.
Swimming Pool is the collaborative project of Klyl Shifroni and Seraina Fässler, a duo based between The Hague and Zürich and operating via label Fog & Co.
