Sultry and electrifying, ‘MONEY’ has all the marks of a banger – at least in our opinion. A lot of its foundational blocks truly cater to our creative flair: from the charming, playful spoken words-esque lyrics to the eclectic dance-powered production – gritty and luscious at the same time – everything screams freshness and coolness, making for a niche cut that we are confident will eventually find its way onto bigger stages.
Behind such a powerful record, we find New York City-based duo DYANA. Championing dance and electro-pop influences, the American outfit exudes a truly euphoric and bright character, one that is partly leftfield and partly mainstream, yet always original and tight. Debuting earlier this year with ‘NEED A BOOST’, DYANA seems to get better as they go along, increasing their ironic charge and their tenacious, daring attitude.
Known for their hybrid DJ sets at NYC spots such as Elsewhere, House of Yes and Laissez Faire, DYANA are working towards an EP, a milestone that we hope will come soon enough; there’s a potential global audience waiting out there. Or, to better put it, it’s time for the pair to come out of the NYC basements.
