Dikundu Shares Hard-Hitting Rap Single ‘Coup pour coup’

Hailing from France, Dikundu is a man on a mission. Originally from Gabon and now based in France, the talented rapper has recently unveiled his latest effort, a striking and hard-hitting piece drenched in sharp lyricism and playful imagery. Titled ‘Coup pour coup’, the track benefits from a simple yet engaging production; a catchy instrumental hook is laid upon a bouncy beat, allowing Dikundu’s slick tone to flourish over it.

Drawing inspiration from his Gabonese roots, as well as American and global influences, the Brest-based creative manages to build a wholesome and unique artistic formula, one that feels eclectic and kaleidoscopic despite retaining a familiar outlook. Getting back to the aforementioned mission, the moniker Dikundu translates to “the sorcerer who uses his powers to do good” in Ipunu, something that’s quite telling about the longstanding motivation behind the project.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Coup pour coup’, Dikundu explains: “Coup pour coup is meant to hit hard, and on stage it’s absolute madness. I love writing this kind of song because I really enjoy it. I like testing flows, testing techniques… It’s cool! I also love playing it live because it always electrifies the crowd. It’s exhilarating!” Overall, an impressive rap effort from Dikundu.
