The7thGatekeeper Screams at Our Gloomy Reality in ‘The Hoard’

Some records are not meant to be taken at face value; they are meant to be reflected upon, fully analysing their lyrical message. ‘The Hoard’ is one such record. Penned by South Wales extraordinaire The7thGatekeeper, the track is a slice of alt-rock euphoria and fierce distortions, yet with very relevant and contemporary songwriting. The British creative is adamant about the goal for the track. He’d love for “others to connect with the theme of the song”.

We are confident they will. Exploring the wave-ridden shorelines of today’s society, ‘The Hoard’ seeks to channel all the frustration and resentment arising from a global reality that’s constantly descending into the abyss of human evil. The7thGatekeeper is deeply disillusioned with our ability to turn things around, especially given the great inequality we are all experiencing right now.

Such a striking message is well mirrored in furious alt-rock and metal elements, making the record an earthy, raw nugget of heart-shaking anger. As The7thGatekeeper explains: “This is the era of misdirection, and imbalance is thriving. This track is an expression of frustration and despair at the concentration of power and resources to a select few. This world has started getting worse, fast, and hopefully the right people are starting to recognise that and turn things in a better direction.”
