Luan Luan Lifts the Curtain on Toxic Relationships in ‘Nonsense’

The keen reader might remember Brighton-based, eclectic creative Luan Luan from ‘A SONG YOU WON’T FORGET’, a contemporary, boundary-pushing collaborative piece we reported on earlier this year. Now, the Spanish-born songwriter and musician has fully re-focused on their solo project, crafting a kaleidoscopic, uplifting gem steeped in authenticity and personal experience. Aptly titled ‘Nonsense’, the record takes a rather organic approach to its aural livery, leaving electronica behind in favour of analogue arrangements, navigating kaleidoscopic pop and funk flavourings with ease and fierceness.

In a way, ‘Nonsense’ functions as a cathartic tool for a painful and chaotic reality, with a hint of nostalgia and resilience. Originally written by Luan Luan at 18, while moving from Madrid to London in a tumultuous relationship, the record functions as an important reminder not to overlook a toxic situation, being mindful of where we lay our romance. Now in a better headspace and with renowned inspiration, Luan Luan is able to look back with pride, celebrating the subject matter with honesty and vulnerability.

Boasting a stunningly dynamic and velvety vocal tone, the Brighton-based songwriter writes a timeless piece, a slice of relatability and fiery grooviness that’s hard to resist. Marking Luan Luan’s long-awaited comeback, ‘Nonsense’ is part of an upcoming debut EP, expected for later this year.
