That’s what TIMEA sets out to do, packing the gentle, heartwarming feeling of new romance into a nugget of aural poignancy. ‘waiting for magic’ is the result of such a process. Built on a simple yet wholesome acoustic livery, the record sees the young creative laying luscious, honest vocals over a strumming guitar, wrapping listeners into three minutes of authentic and cathartic lyricism.
We are rather far from TIMEA’s 2024 EP ‘perception of you’, although the meaningful songwriting is a welcome constant. Quite eclectic and dynamic, the young artist seems to be at home in intimate, reflective pieces as she is uplifting offerings and sharper arrangements. In that sense, ‘waiting for magic’ perfectly fits what the project stands for: limitless authenticity.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, TIMEA explains: “‘waiting for magic’ is a dive into falling in love and confessing to surrender. I tried to capture the sense of peace and something surreal that surrounds new love. I had quite a hard time for a while due to a family tragedy, and falling in love kind of reminded me that there is still so much magic in the world. It was/is the best reminder I could get, and I just really wanted to capture that in the song.”
