An emerging hip-hop creative, Zov.yay has caught our attention thanks to its precise, groovy vocal flow and hard-hitting lyricism, all qualities that frankly make him stand out in a rather crowded scene. Also a multi-disciplinary artist, the talented young American has recently unveiled his latest effort, a charmingly quirky and intimate single that’s as nocturne as it is meaningful. Titled ‘No Watches’, the record follows up from ‘Uphold Era’, crowning a crucial and productive year for Zov.yay.
The project’s production value is rapidly getting better and better, and won’t be long till we see Zov.yay hypnotising a larger audience. For now, though, the feeling is to have discovered something niche and hidden, as the young rapper leaves his fierce and charismatic mark on the genre. There’s a great deal of soulful energy in ‘No Watches’, a quality that well fits Zov.yay’s expressive, luscious vocal tone.
